a celebration of miscommunication

Communication is the imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium. But, what happens when things are
miscommunicated and misunderstood. Does all hell break loose or does it create something different but just as successful?

This project explores the world of miscommunication and celebrates it. Just because something is communicated wrong it doesn’t necessarily mean it is wrong. Using the William Shakespeare play The Comedy of Errors, the conventional design and typographic methods are challenged. The play is based on the idea of miscommunication with a great deal of confusion among the characters and a major part of the humour coming from slapstick and mistaken identity, in addition to puns and word play. The series of five posters, which accompany the book, represent the key aspect of the play and Shakespeare himself.

This project allows the audience to read The Comedy of Errors in a unique way, miscommunicated.
