This project is an exploration of humour and why/ how laughter even occurs. Laughter is a part of the universal human vocabulary – we all understand it. We love to laugh so much that there are industries built around it. It’s very difficult to fake, so when we do let loose, it’s a largely an involuntary action.
Humour is how well you can amuse people around you but what do people feel is amusing? Everyone’s sense of humour varies to a degree. Some may like silly jokes, others sarcasm. It is subjective to each individual. If you laugh, it was funny. If you didn’t, it wasn’t. Laughing and joking is an integral part of our lives and in building relationships.
Telling someone a joke is a way of saying, I like you and I want you to like me. Which can be a bit awkward, so it’s much easier to sail that with a joke.
