The recording sessions for Abbey Road were the last in which all four Beatles participated. This editorial project aims to capture the divisive state that the Beatles were in during the albums production. Many critics now view the album as the Beatles’ best and rank it as one of the greatest albums of all time. The project showcases how opposing perspectives can end up creating great art. The harsh angles in the piece can be read as a visual allegory for the bands creative conflict. The overlaying colours also showcase the artistic juxtaposition found in the record. The format of the printed piece is informed by the size of vinyl records, and the front cover acts as a record sleeve. The binding has 4 points of connection to represent each band member, it also uses exposed string to reference the instruments of the band. Overall, the project investigates how conflicting creative approaches can still yield successful results.
