craic’d women
Craic’d Women is a new T.V show following the lives of Ireland’s greatest female stand-up comedians and comic writers. The Campaign designed to advertise the show, is a mix of animated T.V. ads, outdoor print media and experiential installation.
The aim of the campaign was to break down the stereotype that “women aren’t funny” or that if they are funny “they must be a bit cracked”. It is intended to open the comedy scene and make it an environment that women feel they can excel in. It was also important to show that these women just want to have the “craic” and encourage the public to do the same.
By creating the name Craic’d Women, comedians are taking ownership of the spark of madness you need to succeed in comedy and the derogatory nature of the term is diluted.
