Graduate Show 2015

In March each year, the Year Four Visual Communications students undertake a self-directed project for the Graduate Show. They are asked to look at subjects and themes that are of personal interest to them. In order to focus minds on the project, the group get together to come up with a word or title for the show which allows them to approach a subject/theme with a specific question/angle/point of view. This year’s selected term was ‘Chaos|Order’.

As always, there was a broad range of creative responses from the 30 graduating students. This year music (sampling, the current state of the industry), politics (rhetoric, false flags and activism), sport and the perils of social media (and how to avoid it!) are all common themes in the show. Others chose to look at aspects of our everyday life such as; the lost are of handwriting, pedestrian aggression syndrome and our futile pursuit of perfectionism.
