life, observation, reality
‘Life, Observation, Reality’ is a book which explores the changing language of photography. The transition from process film to digital has transformed snapshot photography at all levels. The book looks at the aesthetic of the diaristic snapshot and how digital photography has changed this aesthetic along with the way we now view, value and take photographs.
The book takes a conceptual approach to snapshot photography. Film photography portrays the sentimental value and attachment we have with a printed photograph, appreciating these perfectly imperfect images. This is contrasted with digital photography where our photos are primarily stored in a virtual archive and viewed on screen.
